Battlestar Galactica: Interim Reflections

Yes, am watching the entire saga from start to finish on DVD, and we`re at about the midpoint of Season 3, just finished watching the ‘Rapture’ episode. And….although I am still enjoying the drama and the acting and the general forward paced plotting, there are some story elements that I’m uneasy about. Seems to me that there are too many non-causal events, visions, coincidences, predictions, proclaimed destinies etc. Again, keep in mind that I do not know how the final episodes pan out, in that I have deliberately not googled to find out who the final five are and what the denouement is (although I have heard hints).

I just hope that there is some explanation which does the entire epic justice.

For me the (no spoiler) peak is the revelation scene when you find out who four of the Final Five are. After that it doesn’t (quite) answer all the teasing questions.Still having seen the whole saga i didn’t feel cheated. As you say it is quality stuff

Just watched 2nd episode of Season 4 – am still unhappy at the coincidental nature of various events. I dont imagine that I`ll feel cheated at the end – if it does turn out to have a non-SF resolution – since the entire series has massively raised the bar for the science fiction field as a whole, from written SF to visual media SF. The way the scripts and the acting and direction make you care deeply about the characters and the choices they have to make is practically a masterclass from which I intend to learn.
