After which there shall be that readers’ afterglow, followed by the hope, nay, the need for more, MORE, I tell you!…ahem, well, I can always hope. And indeed write, that is, write the new Humanity’s Fire book, a standalone novel entitled Ancestral Machines, currently being slaved over by yr hmble scribe, every paragraph being lovingly handtooled and buffed to a finish…

    Hi Michael,

I saw a copy of Seeds of Earth at a bookstore by me a few weeks ago and impulse bought it based solely on the cool cover and Iain M. Banks quote – I’m really glad that I did! I haven’t been able to put it down!

I always like to have music on when I’m reading and for some reason the forest parts on Darien and Nivyesta really made me want to play Wobbler or Anglagard.

So, the funny thing is I just bought The Orphaned Worlds and noticed that you mentioned Wobbler (Among many other bands that I like!) in the acknowledgement section. This makes deciding what to play a lot easier!

Anyway, I can’t wait to read the last two books in this series!

New Reader. Just finished “Seeds of Earth” on 13 Nov 2012. Bought “The Orphaned Worlds” 14 Nov. 2012. Want to confirm that “Ascendant Stars” will be for sale on 20 Nov. 2012.

I have several comments, but my questions might be answered in “The Orphaned Worlds.” If not, then expect my inquiry within the next week.

Have been a SciFi reader/fan since 1952. My humble abode is California, USA.

HI Chris – I have been lucky with the covers, and lucky to live in what I`m sure later decades will call a Golden Age of Rock and Prog – and have you heard the new Wobbler CD? Just fantastic. Glad you’re enjoying SOE, and hope you enjoy the following volumes.

Hi Frank – yes, indeedy, according to Amazon US Ascendant Stars is out on November 20th and I’ve no reason to doubt that will be so. Very pleased that you’ve enjoyed book 1, and hope the following volumes turn out to be satisfying. Ah, California – y`know, one of these days I have got to make the trip…

I think I have probably played Rites at Dawn 150 times since it came out last year – I honestly think it’s one of the best progressive rock albums ever recorded. Much more focused and mature than Hinterland, which I also still enjoy greatly!
